Russell Davies- Language and User Experience
I’m Russell Davies, I’m here to help make sure the things GDS builds are understood by the people who use them. That means getting a good understanding of our users, looking for ways we can talk to people through the products (without spending any money) and making sure we communicate clearly.
My background is in advertising and marketing and doing this sort of thing for all sorts of global businesses. I’m at GDS because it’s working on the most interesting communications/service problems in the UK today – and the team of people is genuinely brilliant.

Good to see a comms person on the team. You have a challenging role, though! For example, have you read the ‘About GDS’ section of this website? Does it make sense to you? I’m trying to find a single sentence that I fully understand. Problem is, I’m pretty web savvy but not being a developer I have no idea what it’s all about. What others think, with less of a web background, is anybody’s guess.
Good luck mate!
Hey, who let Russell in there;-)
Any chance for more comms people to join in? Especially one with a good grounding in content management systems, and creating digital tools with the enduser (general public) in mind?
